We offer for sale a unique historical house on an extraordinary place directly under the rock of the Beckov castle. The medieval Beckov castle is located in western Slovakia and is a neighbouring castle to Cachtice castle, the place where the famous Elisabeth Bathory have spent most of her life.
The house is standing on a nice land with a special charm driven by the under castle atmosphere. It is presumably the oldest house standing in the medieval town Beckov that’s core stems from the 15th century. Based on a legend, during the Second World War, the first Slovak president, Mr. Tiso has spent several nights in this building.
The oldest part, consisting of kitchen, 2 bedrooms and a bedroom for servants has a vault cellar underneath and is stemming from the 15-16th century. Both bedrooms have beautiful arched ceilings as well as the next huge room stemming from 17-18th century. The fourth room was attached in 19th century and has a flat ceiling. Next to it there is a second kitchen, a corridor and 2 chambers. The roof covered with plate and the framework is in good condition. The house requires reconstruction.
The town Beckov lays just an hour highway travel away from Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia and half an hour from Vienna. It is situated in the flourishing region of Nove Mesto nad Vahom between the mountains White Carpathians and Povazsky Inovec, next to the Vah River. The surrounding of the town offers wide range of possibilities for summer and winter sports and recreation including skiing (Veľká Javorina, Kálnica, Stará Myjava), cycling, horse riding, hiking, swimming (Zelena Voda lakes) and the world famous spa of Piešťany and Trenčianske Teplice. Several meters from the house you can find a fancy guesthouse with a restaurant that offers wellness, sauna, tennis courts and bowling. The Beckov castle rock is famous also for the mountain-climbing possibility.
